Best Trail Mix EVER

I, Brenna, love trail mix. I can eat it at night or in the day, for lunch or breakfast or elevensies.
But one of my least favorite things is when I buy a bag and only like the m&ms and peanuts! That is wrong! So below I have made a list of things that should be in a trail mix.
  • banana chips
  • almonds
  • large sunflower seeds
  • m&ms
  • cashews
  • dried coconut chunks
  • peanut butter & dark chocolate chips
  • dried mango
  • yogurt chips
  • cheerios
  • peanuts
  • dried pumpkin seeds
  • dried cherries/craisins (NOT RAISINS)
  • goldfish
  • pretzels

Being able to balance crunchy, chewy, salty, sweet, sugary and protein-packed is an ART! So mix these carefully and maybe one day you can become a master mixer like myself. Also, be reckless in combining these finger foods and discover strangely creative flavor combinations.

Most importantly, enjoy the trail you are traveling that accompanies your snack.

What is the most important ingredient in your trail mix?

DIY #2 Healthy Hair

Soo I was surfing Pinterest last night and saw a project that was really easy! I'm not one for fancy projects that cost only ten bucks less than it would, and I have to convince my dad to take me to the store. This one, just takes a little bit of baking soda and a little bit of water
If someone told me to make Pinterest, I'd hand them a piece of wood, a lemon and a box of baking soda because that is in like all of the projects on there.
Aaaaanyway putting baking soda in your hair just dries up all the oils and nasties in your hair and you come out with really soft, pretty hair! Don't do it too often though, because you need those natural oils. It's nice for a clean once in a while though.
Here's what you do!
Make a paste with baking soda and water, just a little bit. I actually didn't use all of what I had last night     so I'm saving it for another time.
Get in the shower and get your hair wet
Rub the paste into your hair, kind of massaging your scalp with it. When it's spread out over your head it will feel kind of like sand.
Leave it for about 10 minutes and then rinse!
I put conditioner in my hair afterwards but that's optional

Once your hair dries, it will be super soft! My, my, sodium bicarbonate works wonders

I also put some on my acne and it stung, but I think it worked. It faded a lot.

If you get any on your face, just remove it with a warm, wet towel. Your face will probably be reddish and glowing afterwards. If you have really sensitive skin like me, I would not recommend using it as a face scrub. It hurts!

Try it out and let me know how it works~

QotD: What's your hair type?
AotD: I have brown-blondeish hair and it's pretty thin. Thicker than it used to be, but still.

DIY Sparkly Keds!

FIRST DIY!!!!
For Christmas, I made my beautiful mamma a pair of sparkly Keds, and I was thinking somebody out there might want to learn how to do it!
The story behind this, is that a few months before my parents got engaged, my mom had seen a beautiful pair of sparkly vans or keds or something. She didn't buy them, because you know she wasn't engaged yet and you can't jinx a wedding. She never found them again. I know, you are thinking aww sads, yes, yes, but enter, first (and best) daughter, BRENNA! So I made them for her!
Note: I accidentally named the video Dig Sparkly shoes instead of DIY sparkly shoes! Please forgive me :\

This project cost me about $20 which was way better than $60, but it could have been only $12 if I had seen them at Wal-Mart first!!!
Materials:
  • Plain white Keds, I got these for $15 at Target, but afterwards I saw them for $5.87 at Wal-Mart
  • Glitter!
  • Plenty of Decopage glue, I mean plenty!!!
  • A couple of paper plates
  • A disposable sponge brush
  • Some plastic grocery store-type bags
  • Painter's tape
Go ahead and watch the poorly titled video and if you happen to make the shoes, let me know any way to ease making these!

QotD: Have you ever done any other DIY projects?
Aotd: I actually joined a website for people who like to do that kind of thing. You earn badges and it was really cool! You can find the website here

Have fun!
