time for a new look!

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/13131519/?claim=zy2dbpn76r2">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>
Hi guys! It's me, Brenna the Bad Blogger. If you haven't noticed, I've just began a new construction process and so I guess I'm not really a bad blogger anymore. I'm a girl without shame :)

The story behind my new title is really simple.
I've been teaching myself how to be myself around everyone, and not change to look better for certain people. Especially now that I am entering high school, I think it is an important thing to learn.
Hopefully you are ok with the change, and won't forget that I'm still the same Brenna that was here 20 minutes ago when I changed the URL

Also, if anyone has skills in the graphic design department and would like to design my blog for me (since I don't know anything about that stuff), then I would LOOOVE to pay you in multitudes of shout outs and buttons in my side bar. I'm specifically looking for a header and a new button. And anything else if you are up to it hahaha!

Thank you to my followers for reading what I write, and I try to improve everyday, just for you!
Live without shame today

6 Hilarious (Not Quite New) TV Shows

I've become quite a teenager this summer, and one of my "hobbies" are TV shows that aren't very new. I never liked Gossip Girl and didn't get wrapped into Switched at Birth. But I do very much enjoy some older ones, that I would love to share with you! Just a warning, most of these are PG-13 so for the younger readers, check with your parents before watching all of them. Also, these are in no particular order

Gilmore Girls

Scrubs

Parks and Recreation

Friends

The IT Crowd

Family Ties

Some of these are a LOT older than others, but I love all of them. I know, I know, I need to stop watching so much TV, which is why I'm asking you guys for writing prompts. I really want to write a story, but I can't think of any genius story ideas, so if you have one and are kind enough to share it, please PLEASE drop it in the comments (or email me if it is super secret and amazing). Hopefully you all enjoyed this post and I didn't accidentally hook you on one of these shows. Have a great day!

Teen Summer Tag

Now that summer has started for real for me, I've decided to make a tag! If you get tagged, answer the questions and tag more people!

1. Is it summer where you live?
Yes!
2. What is your favorite part of the summer-time?
Being able to breathe. In my bed. Instead of at school.
3. Do you have any summer traditions?
I used to go to my best friend's house every Thursday and swim in the lake at her house, but I've moved away now, so I guess I need to make some new ones!
4. Name your number one summer song, ready go!
Pineapple Princess by Annette Funicello
5. What is your most memorable memory of the summer, ever?
Probably spending my summers at the lake with Julia :) I miss you girl. See her blog here
6. One blog you currently can't get enough of!
Definitley Reckless or Clover & Dot
7. Give your top blogging tip, even if you're a newbie. What do you want people to know?
If you don't like blogging at all, stick with it just a little longer but if you just can't, then don't. Do things that you enjoy. I blog because I love it and I need a regular creativity outlet, and this is a reliable place to spill!
8. If you could travel anywhere this summer, where would it be and why?
Apart from back home, I would visit Europe and see all the touristy things, and then some. See the real European country sides. :)
9. What is your favorite accessory to wear in the warm weather?
Well, in the nicer days I like to dress up in flowy clothes and accent necklaces/bracelets are always fun, so definitley those! I have a silver anchor necklace that I really love to wear.
10.  Set one goal to challenge yourself this summer.
I am going to fill a whole notebook/journal with doodles, quotes and to-dos. I swear!

Now tag as many people as you want! Anybody can do this---Feel free to do this and please post the picture with it. But specifically I tag the following blogs-

How to Handle Being Busy

Hi guys! I've been rather busy lately especially of the after school variety (Aladdin!!!) so having to be ready for the most has become a little more real to me! This will probably seem like nothing to most of you but I've never really been the kind of girl in all the clubs and sports after hours, so it's a lot for me!
Here are some hopefully helpful ideas that can save you time and come to the rescue when life happens!

+Have at LEAST 2 ways to get into where you are going. Whether it's a door, a janitor, a back road or the digits of someone that is already there, I HATE being late! So know somebody that can help you get in if you can't by yourself. I have found it really helpful to know people on the inside ;)

+Always have a snack on you. You have no idea what a big difference a granola bar can do to your mood. Try not to eat super sugary foods when you are rushing around town, because you will crash and burn!!! Also, eating too much at once and then having to keep moving SUCKS! Don't make yourself miserable.
Be smart

+If you are wearing fancy shoes that hurt your feet or give you blisters, bring socks, band-aids and comfy shoes! A lot of people roll their eyes when others complain about shoe problems because they chose to wear those, right? Well be resourceful and bring a change! I recommend flip flops because they can be shoved in a back pack without being heavy or taking up much room.

+Your attitude is so important omg You guys! When your life is moving fast, you're bound to trip! Being okay with tripping is essential to dealing with this stuff. Be happy shake it off and laugh! You are okay.
Sometimes when you are too caught up and stressed out and you need to lay on the floor and cry for a little bit, that's awesome too, just not every night, that's unhealthy.

Being stressed out all day every day is most likely not worth everything you are doing. If you need to take a night off and have some alone time, do it! Say no to going out. Breaks are good so that you can be fully focused when you need to be busy. :)

So sorry for the extremely long post, but it's Tech Week at the theatre and the show opens tomorrow, so I felt bad for not posting anything fun this week. I hope you enjoyed/got something out of this post, leave a comment if I missed something, and don't forget to click follow!

Blue Ice Cream//It's A Fine Fine Life!

It's another week of linking up with Allie at Reckless! It's a fine, fine life!

Last Friday, I went on a trip with the Beta Club at my school to King's Island in Ohio. I'd never been there before and I haven't gone on a big roller coaster before...
I'm scared of heights...and I don't trust the machinery. So that was fun! I rode a grand total of 4 rides.
Only one of those was a roller coaster. In "Planet Snoopy". The kids place. I liked it :) It wasn't ridiculously high, didn't look like a death trap, so I figured, why not? I rode it twice and each run lasted about 30 seconds so it wasn't too shabby.
I ate their famous blueberry ice cream, which didn't taste much like blueberries, but was still pretty good. I also experienced Dippin' Dots for the first time!
It was a fantastic day, and even though I didn't go on any real roller coasters, I have no regrets

5 Tips For Beating a Cold

Guess who has a cold! It's me! But don't worry, I've become an expert at getting over it as fast as you can.

I kind of like being sick sometimes, because beside all the ickiness, you get a chance to catch up with yourself. But anyway, that's not the point. Here are some tips (in no order)  I have found really helpful:

  1. STEAM!If your head is clogged, and you need to keep moving with your life, start a really hot shower. Don't get into it, just sit in the hot room and let your nose run out. It's like your own sauna! If you don't want to waste water, then you can put some steamy water into a bowl, then lower your face over it and put a towel over both your head and the bowl so that the steam can't get out. Please make sure you can still breathe :) This is good especially if you are a singer and need to get over this fast!
  2. HYDRATE! I actually Googled why fluids are good for the cold, and I found an article that said liquids don't necessarily beat infection, but it is still important to be properly hydrated. Back in January when I was travelling I got a bad cold, so my grandma took me to Starbucks and got a jasmine-mint tea that had half lemonade and half water. I drank those like they were made of gold!
  3. AVOID CAFFEINE! I don't know why, but multiple people and internet resources have told me never to drink caffeine when you are sick. That includes coffee (go decaf!), some teas, sodas and too much chocolate. It sucks being hyped up on goofballs and not allowed out of the house, anyway.
  4. CLEAN! You don't want to spread it do you? Take an anti-bacterial wipe and go over doorknobs, light switches, phones, keyboards, steering wheels, anything you touch a lot. It mentally makes at least me feel better, that I'm not living in a complete germ-fest.
  5. RELAX! If I don't have a fever, normally my parents still make me go to school, but if it's really bad, you need to rest! Take some ibuprofen or Tylenol if you are in pain and lay down. Watch a movie or read a book associated with good memories, and be happy. it's a good way to distract yourself, but also, you don't want to be sick AND depressed, because that could hurt your health even more.
Get well soon!
Please pray for the cast of Aladdin, it's 2 weeks until opening night and everyone is getting sick :(

Stay happy and healthy everyone!

There You'll Find Me

There You'll Find Me
A Catholic story that takes place in and around Abbey glen, Ireland, by Jenny B. Jones.

So I got this book for Christmas along with another book (which I''m reviewing once I finish!) and I brought it along with me to Washington! Oh yeah, by the way I'm back in my own house now I read about half of it at a time on each flight. I really enjoyed it!
The main characters are Finley, a previously spoiled American exchange student and Beckett, the young Hollywood heart throb. They visit around Ireland together, following Finley's deceased brother's travel journal. As they go about their journey, a love story is created, but it's not just that. Finley's walk with God is taking some big detours. While going to a Catholic school and visiting an elderly woman in her last few months of life, Finley's life changes drastically. It kept me interested the whole time (even though I had nothing else to do...) I understood the characters thoughts like they were my own. I recommend this book! Make a note that I'm not Catholic, but I still really enjoyed it :)

Take 5 and...Action!

Hello!
I'm Brenna (and if you haven't noticed) I suck at blogging. I have somewhere around 4 other ones that I rarely look at. But since I moved away from most of my family and all of my friends, I decided I should give it another shot.
So buckle your seat belt and prepare for this hopefully-not-short-again ride!
I don't know who will read this at all but I guess you can hear my story anyways. I moved to Louisville from Lakewood roughly 2 months ago. I got culture shocked big time! I lived in the Northwest my whole life, and went to a steady youthgroup for a long time. My best friend and I even met in the toddler room at our church, (love you Julia <3) so going from that to not knowing anyone was a really big change. Since then, I've started school and become a part of a new church and made a few friends but I've been struggling spiritually. I met this really nice lady who runs the small group for my age and she talked about it with me and it really helped! (I can mention my struggle in another post if you'd like) Also, my girl Julia wrote a blogpost about her being God's princess that also encouraged me a ton.
Here's the link: http://saysomething12.blogspot.com/

Anyway, if you haven't been paying attention -which is completely understandable, I'm a bad blogger remember!- I will be talking about God a lot! I'm Christian, but I like to say I have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
So, yup! Thats the most recent me!
And honestly, I've got no idea of what this page will be about...at all. Maybe you'll get a laugh or two, maybe not, but you can be certain that I am trying my hardest
So here's to another beginning! My writing style is kind of confusing I guess, but bear with me, and hopefully I can get better at this whole bloggin' deal :) Thanks for reading and feedback in a certain comment box in a certain bottom of this page would be very much appreciated.
Yours Truly,
Brenna Mae
